Find your personal Interior Design Style

Find your personal Interior Design Style

Time to grow up & live on your own? Moving in with a partner/loved one? or are you finalizing the last touches of your perfect family home? Finding your own personal taste or even merging your style with a partner is hard in today’s digital world, in which platforms like Instagram and Pinterest seem to overwhelm you with any individual flair & trend and turn it into one comparable style.

Your home’s design should be personal, whether you’re living alone or having a partner to compromise with.

Here at C.F.L Architects Engineers & Consultants, we’ve prepared a short article of a list of contemporary interior styles that will help you find and define the look that’s right for you.

  1. Mid-Century Modern-  Inspired by the mid-1900s this style includes classic, discreet looks with clean & minimal lines. Characterized by refined lines, minimalist silhouettes and natural shapes, this design is extremely versatile and can match a variety of styles. The color palette inspired by the middle of the century tends to combine darker saturated and neutral tones.
  2. Industrial
  3. Rustic – The rustic decoration has to do with an unobstructed aesthetic that highlights the beauty of the soft shades, the natural materials (wooden beams or touches of stone and clay) and the comfortable furniture. An important element in all rustic rooms is the use of wood tones and the impeccable fabric.
  4. Minimal- Minimalist architecture and decoration became especially popular in the late 1980s, where architects and fashion designers worked together to achieve simplicity, using white elements, cold lighting, large spaces with minimal objects and furniture. The ideology of minimalist decoration is to remove all non-essential elements until we achieve absolute simplicity.
  5. Modern
  6. Contemporary
  7. Retro
  8. Vintage –  This look is flooded with carefully selected patterns from the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s.  Vintage style is a great solution for treasure hunters and collectors; it’s a mix of old and new furniture, old vintage paintings, souvenirs and collectables. The assumption of this style is to create interiors with a worn-out look, a soul telling a story.
  9. Pop Art
  10. Ethnic
  11. Baroque
  12. Bohemian – The bohemian decoration represents the carefree and bold spirit of the pioneering lifestyle. It has a creative application of rich patterns & layers and vibrant colors, especially those with red or purple tones. The core of the bohemian aesthetic is that it’s personal, “messy” and relaxed. Boho styles are not styled for any other person’s enjoyment but your own.
  13. Shabby Chic
  14. Romantic
